Office Jobs

Peter used to drive his car to office for work.  It was cost him quite a fortune, from the place of his rented room to his office.  It took him one and half an hour drive during rush hour. Normal days, it took him only 20 minutes. The parking space around his working area was another headache for him.  He would only get a parking space by 7.00 Am in the morning.  He would have a hard time to kill his two hours from 7.00 Am to 9.00 Am.  He wanted to start a day work earlier but the office would only open at 8.50 Am for the sake of saving energy.

Morning at 8.00 Am he won’t be able to have a reasonable charge of packing space. He needed to fork out ten ringgit per entry per day car park fees. He had no choice and to try his luck every morning but most of the morning, it was a ten ringgit, flying away plus the one and half hour multiply by two ways of petrol consumption daily.

Office hours, tea time, his colleague asked “Peter can I take a lift from you tonight?” Peter answered “Ok, but the problems, we are not on the same area!” His colleague “Just only one Km further up only, it is very easy to take a U turn from my place and back to your place”

Nearly 5.00 Pm, most of the office girls were started to do the patching up, beautifying their physical outlook, especially doing the face painting and flowering their hair.  The guys were mostly doing nothing but there was something male and female were alike, going to the toilet, the last round.  In the toilet, male and female toilets, female were doing the patching, painting and flowering.  Male were doing the peeing.

Peter wrapped up his one day work, done with his peeing. He locked his drawers, placing all papers and files to their rightful locations.  Standing up and started to walk towards the lift.  His colleague called out to stop him to wait for him “Peter wait for me, I needed few more seconds” Peter stopped and wait for him.

Peter affirmatively said “You don’t want to go with me” His colleague “Hey, Peter it is not fair, you did promised!” Peter said “Ok, come along” Both of them took the lift at the same time and walked out from the office tower at the same time.   The colleague followed him and Peter stopped at the bus stop which was just only 50 meter away from their office tower.  Colleague asked “Why you are stopping here, where is your car?” Peter answered “My driver will come here” Colleague asked curiously “Your Driver?” Peter “Yes my driver, he is a very good boy, he picked everyone up on the way over here and pick me up!” Colleague became suspicious but his mind still blank.  Peter continued “He drive a very big vehicle, it is able to be seated 40 over persons”

The colleague choked, Peter smiled and giggled

Inside the bus, Peter and the colleague seated together.   Colleague “When did you sold your car?” Peter “Did I sell my car?”  Colleague adjusted his sitting position, looking at Peter and waiting for an answer. Peter “It is highly not economical, inconvenience and wasting a lot of time to drive a car for work in city nowadays!” Peter “Taking a bus to LRT, from LRT taking a bus backed home, it took me one hour journey, by my own car; I have to spend one and half an hour.  Raining days three to four hours drive is very common” The colleague was not fully convinced “But then, how about the cost?” Peter “RM1.00 bus fare multiply by 4 plus LRT RM2.50 multiply by 2, totaling is RM9.00 per day” Colleague persistent “How about comfort!” Peter “This is the only good point, comfort to me is luxury” Colleague “Where is your car?” Peter “Wrapped, packed and hanged on my room wall”

Comfort or not comfort, Peter did not care much about it.  He did enjoy his rides over bus and LRT.  Especially during rush hours, he would intentionally or unintentionally squish himself among all females’ riders.  The softness of body touch, the perfume and the female body natural scent made him drunk without alcohol.  At times he would jump out from the bus or LRT when some of the female armpit odor chopped him!

The Coffin Case

Meeting room, James was chairing the meeting.  James raised his voice “Marketing people, it has been two full months and I see no change of our occupancy” He paused and louder his voice “We have only 68% occupancy.  And! It is best, there are 45% belongs to my direct solicited tenants” The meeting room was so quiet and nearly the heart beats of James could be heard.  James continued with his outrage voice “No Improvement for the nest meeting, someone has to go, that’s all! Meeting dismisses!”

James left the meeting room alone, others still seated tight to their chairs.  Marketing broke the silence “James going to do the sacking tomorrow?”  Mall promotion manager said” Not tomorrow, I will conduct the meeting tomorrow” Secretary confirmed “James going overseas tomorrow” Marketing said with relieved voice “When he is coming back” Secretary “No idea but he will inform me later” Marketing left the meeting room.  Accountant asked “James is really to sack marketing? Marketing department is one woman show? She goes; James has to do it alone.  She is ok after all, she got 33%, and James got 45%, nearly half of James” He talked and asked but no one answered.

James walked in to the lift, he saw a can drink spilled and patches of the drinks all over the lift.  He walked out from the lift.  He saw the cleaners, both of them standing in between the lifts, holding their cleaning mops and making conversation and took no notice of the lift situation.  He called his secretary “I want the cleaning contractor changed by the time I returned” He walked to his car, he looked around at the mall car park, no security personal was sighted.  He called his secretary “Ask the security head to check the duty roll, find out who is on duty to day at level eight, I want him replaced and not with us by the time I come back”

Meeting room, James looked at the report he held and said “That’s right, at least something have been done but just only two tenants addition for this month, it is not enough” He sipped mouthful of coffee and continued “Our mall location, it is not so good, but it is not to bad either, we have to achieve 90% occupancy” Phone rang, receptionist called “Boss someone looking for you” James said “Don’t you know, we have a meeting right now” Receptionist  “But he said he wanted to have a good location at our mall for their promotion”

James office “Please gentleman, take a seat” They were one male and one female; they were seated and handed over their business cards to James. James asked “Mr. Richard, what is your requirement?” Richard “We need to carry out the promotion, we wanted the main hall of the main entrance of your mall for our new products” The lady added “We are new company, as you know, we need to make known ourselves to the public, we have to introduce our company as well as our products within the shortest possible time” James “Mr. Richard, you have chosen well, our mall just right for you”

James instructed the secretary to bring cups of coffee and teas for him and the guests.  He continued “What are the products? It is one of the condition of our tenancy agreement, you have to make know to us the products” Richard replied “They are wood based products, it is not wise to disclose details before we display them as we don’t want unnecessary competition”   James “How long you are intended for the promotion” Richard “Three years is our budget, it depends on your rental charges, too high, we may have to go for shorter periods” James “OK, let me work out a win win situation” James click into his computer and doing more clicks and said “RM15,000 per month per 20meter by 30 meter of space”  Richard “Too high for us, we may have to reduce to two years, RM10,000 per month is our budget” James did more clicks of his computer “OK, final figure RM12.000 per month, but we need you to pay in full for the whole three years”  Richard “ OK, deal”

Morning, it was normal time for the accountant to check in for work.  However it was unusual morning, the Accountant felt something amiss and asked receptionist “What happen, so quiet this morning” Receptionist asked instead of answered “Where did you come to the office” Accountant answered “As usual from the car park, what it is got to do with it” Receptionist “Go down to the main hall to have a look” accountant “OK, but where is everybody?”  She answered “Meeting room and big boss is chairing” Accountant asked “Am I needed” She said “Better not, go to your room”

The mall main hall, displaying more than five of old traditional Chinese coffins, they were beautifully designed.  More than ten of Christian traditional coffins, some of them, they were fully glassware with models of the dead bodies inside. They were many other displays and associated with funeral ceremonies.

It was news that the mall needed to pay them five times of the prepaid rentals in order to move away all displays as it was stipulated in the rental agreement for repudiated the agreement.  It was news the gangs of the tenant were disappeared from the surface of the earth.  It was only news, no body know the truth.
